The Fall 2025 Flu and Covid Vaccine Campaign Begins October 14th

The Province has announced the start of the 2025 Fall Flu and Covid Booster campaign for people to maintain and extend protection for themselves and their loved ones against serious illnesses from Covid 19 and Flu.

This campaign will begin on October 14th and run through January 2026.  As with previous vaccination campaigns, bookings are made through the province's "Get Vaccinated" online platform or can be made by phone through the toll free provincial number: 1 833 838-2323.

At Heart Pharmacy, we are running vaccination clinics at our Fairfield, Shelbourne, Cadboro Bay, Sidney, Langford (St. Anthony's), UVIC Campus and Esquimalt locations several days each week starting October 14th. 

Aligned with advice from the National Advisory Committee on Immunization, B.C. health officials recommend that all residents receive an additional dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, the newest vaccine variant is intended to protect against the LP.8.1 strain and other recent strains of Covid-19.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I make an appointment?

  • All appointments must be booked through GetVaccinated website or by phoning 1.833.838.2323. We cannot book them in at the pharmacy. 

  • Invitations will start going out on October 07th for those in priority groups (clinically extremely vulnerable) and then age to allow for advanced appointment booking. 

    • If you have questions about what group you fall into you can call the Get Vaccinated Help Line at 1-833-838-2323

    • A public booking URL will be published later in the campaign after priority group invites are sent. 

What Vaccines types are available?

  • Covid-19

    • Two updated mRNA vaccines are authorized for fall 2025 for those 6 months of age and over. Pharmacies are only eligible to vaccinate children aged 12 and over. Children under the age of 12 must receive Covid vaccinations from Public Health Units.

    • All Heart Pharmacy locations currently have vaccinations manufactured by both Pfizer and Moderna

  • Influenza

    • Influenza vaccines available in BC for the 2025-2026 influenza season:

      • FLUAD® Trivalent (inactivated).

      • FLUZONE® TRIVALENT (inactivated).

      • FLUMIST® TRIVALENT (live attenuated).

      • FLUZONE® HIGH DOSE (Adults 65+) (inactivated).

Who can get a Vaccine in the Pharmacy?

  • The COVID  booster can be received by anyone over 6mos of age, but we can only provide the injections in pharmacies to those >12 years old.

  • Flu shots can be given in the pharmacy to children and adults over the age of 2.

    • Please note that at the current moment, pharmacies do not have vaccine supply to vaccinate children between the age of 2 and 4. The preferred location for flu shots for children 4 and under is the Public Health Unit

Does Heart Pharmacy have a Masking Requirement?:

  • If you are experiencing any cold or flu symptoms, we ask that you reschedule your appointment by calling the GetVaccinated HelpLine

  • Otherwise we do not have a strict masking requirement at this time but have masks avaialble upon request.

Can I Walk in For a Vaccination Without an Appointment?

  • Some of our stores will allow walk-ins on specific days where we have adequate vaccine supply and vaccinator capacity. To confirm if we are allowing walk ins on a particular day you can call the store directly
