Important Update: Post Office Closures at Cadboro Bay & Fairfield

After many years of hosting Canada Post outlets, our pharmacies at Cadboro Bay and Fairfield will no longer be offering post office services. We know this is disappointing news, as the post office has been a valued part of daily routines in our community.

Canada Post is reducing the number of outlets nationwide, and locations like ours without national contracts are being affected. With Fairfield already mandated to close and Cadboro Bay following, we’ve chosen to manage this transition thoughtfully and plan for the future use of these spaces.

Our focus now is on expanding the health services we provide — including more clinic rooms, new programs, and additional care options designed for you and your family. While the post office will be missed, we’re committed to making our pharmacies even stronger community health hubs.

Thank you for your understanding and continued trust.

FAQ

  • Q: Which Post Offices are closing?

    Cadboro Bay: Closing September 11

    Fairfield: Closing September 30

  • Q: Why are these closures happening?

Canada Post is reducing costs through a national review.

Fairfield was directly closed by Canada Post.

Cadboro Bay was not selected yet, but because future closures are expected, we chose a planned closure to avoid disruption during flu/vaccination season.

  • Q: How long have these Post Offices been operating?

Both locations have served the community for over 20 years.

  • Q: Who made the decision?

Canada Post is responsible for the closures. Heart Pharmacy worked to keep Fairfield open, but our request was denied.

  • Q: Are other Post Offices affected?

Yes, at least two other local pharmacy outlets are also closing.

  • Q: What does this mean for customers?

Postal services at Cadboro Bay and Fairfield will no longer be available after the closure dates.

    Heart Pharmacy operations remain unaffected.

  • Q: Can the post office be moved to another location in the Pharmacy?

Unfortunately not, as Canada Post is unable to open any new locations.
